Practical information
Classes
À l’ouverture de l’établissement scolaire, les enfants seront répartis par groupes multi-niveaux, qui seront établis en fonction des enfants présents. Par exemple, la répartition pourrait être la suivante :
♦ ages 3-4 (corresponding to Petite and Moyenne Sections)
♦ ages 5-7 (corresponding to Grande Section/CP/CE1)
♦ ages 8-11 (corresponding to CE2/CM1/CM2)
If students in 6th grade are admitted during the first year of the school, the class divisions would be different, most likely with 6th grade being combined with students in CM1 and CM2 (4th and 5th grades). (This is equivalent to Cycle 3 in the French system.)
Les enseignements du matin seront donnés par groupe. L’après-midi, les enfants seront tous ensemble ou répartis différemment selon leurs besoins, leurs affinités et les activités proposées.
As mentioned, the grade-level arrangements in each class will depend on enrollment. The placement of students in a class will also depend on the student's level and the composition of the class.
Schedules
The school is open on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, from 8:30 to 16:30.
Children of the 3rd group are to attend school Wednesday morning, as well, from 8:30 to 12:00.
In the morning, drop-off begins at 8:00 AM. (There is no additional charge for dropping students off between 8:00 and 8:30 AM.)
Two afternoons per week, an adjusted schedule is possible, so that students may participate in extra-curricular activities. An agreement regarding the specific personal project that requires an adjusted schedule will be established in cooperation with the family, subject to approval by the school administrator.
3-4 years
Families with children who are 4 years old may also request an adjusted schedule two afternoons per week for an activity that benefits the child, for example to develop a deeper relationship with grandparents.
Children who are 3 years old may attend school for a half day in the mornings and return home for the afternoon. The school will establish an agreement with parents in this case to document the child's attendance without requiring a specific project for the afternoons.
Students who are 3 years old who stay at school in the afternoons will have a longer midday break, including time for a nap.
Calendar
The school is open from the 1st Monday in September through June 30 each year.
School holidays will follow the National Education calendar for Zone B (Aix-Marseille).
Lunch
Meals are prepared by the parents. They will be warmed up at lunch time.
Recommendations for meals and snacks will be given at the beginning of the school year. The school is not responsible for the prepared lunch’s quality.
Teachers and helpers will have lunch and break together with the children. This continuity contributes to building a relationship of trust between the children and the adults supervising them.
Childcare
Childcare outside of school hours will be available at the school for an additional fee. The first year, teachers will supervise childcare, which will only be available in the afternoons when school is in session. Beginning the second or third year of the school, we plan to offer additional childcare on Wednesdays and during school holidays.
This will be managed by an additional team sharing the same values as those of the school.
Facility
The exact location of the Victor & Salomé school is still to be determined. The location will depend on the number of families interested within practical distance as well as building availability. We are particularly seeking a property with easy access to nature, as this is a critical element of our pedagogy.
If you are a parent interested in this project, contact us so that we can learn more about which geographical locations would be practical for your family. We are looking for this information to help guide our ongoing search for a suitable property.
Tuition Rates
We are an independent school and are therefore self-supporting, primarily through tuition.
To allow the greatest number of families to be able to enroll their children, we plan to offer scholarships based on family income and number of children enrolled to offset the cost of tuition. These scholarships may be financed by individual donations or by organizations or companies that would like to support the Victor & Salomé school project.
Tuition Rates
The tuition rates below are in € and reflect the monthly cost of tuition paid over 12 months.
